Privacy notice

What personal data Mintador collects through this website, why it is collected, and the rights you hold over it.

Last updated

20 September 2026

This notice explains how Mintador handles personal data collected through this website. It covers the website only. Personal data collected in the course of onboarding a counterparty — identity documents, beneficial ownership records, bank details — is handled under our counterparty due diligence procedures, which are provided to counterparties directly.

Mintador is established in the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre free zone and processes personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection law of the United Arab Emirates.

1.

Who is responsible

Mintador determines how and why personal data submitted through this website is processed. Contact details for data protection enquiries are set out at the end of this notice.

2.

What we collect

We collect only what you provide and what is necessary to run the site.

  • Enquiry details you submit: entity name, country of incorporation, counterparty type, your name, role, email address, telephone number, the metals and forms you trade, indicative volume, and the message you write.
  • Correspondence: any email or call that follows an enquiry, and our record of it.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages requested, recorded by our hosting provider in server logs for security and reliability.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors. We do not ask for identity documents, financial account details or beneficial ownership information through this website.

3.

Why we process it

  • To respond to your enquiry and to assess whether a trading relationship is possible.
  • To carry out counterparty due diligence where an enquiry proceeds, including checks we are required to perform under anti-money-laundering obligations.
  • To keep records of our dealings, which we are required to retain.
  • To keep the website secure and available.

We rely on your consent when you submit an enquiry, on the necessity of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, and on compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject.

4.

Who it is shared with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for marketing.

  • Our website host, which serves the site and retains server logs.
  • Our email delivery provider, which transmits enquiry submissions to our trading desk.
  • Professional advisers, auditors and banks, where required for compliance or audit.
  • Regulators and law enforcement, where we are legally obliged to disclose — including reports made under anti-money-laundering law, which we are not permitted to tell you about.

These providers operate outside the United Arab Emirates. Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, we rely on the protections required by applicable UAE data protection law.

5.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship are retained for up to two years, so we can recognise a repeat approach. Where a trading relationship begins, records are retained for the period required by UAE anti-money-laundering and commercial record-keeping law, which is at least five years from the end of the relationship. Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider.

6.

Your rights

Subject to the limits in applicable law, you may:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete data, where we are not required to retain it.
  • Object to or ask us to restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent you have given, without affecting processing already carried out.

Some of these rights do not apply to records we are required to keep under anti-money-laundering law. Where we cannot act on a request, we will tell you why.

7.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection and enquiry submissions are transmitted to our desk over encrypted channels. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to staff who need it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure.

8.

Changes

We update this notice when our handling of personal data changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

9.

Contact

Data protection enquiries, and requests to exercise any of the rights above, should be sent to our compliance contact. Contact details are on the enquiries page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the competent UAE data protection authority.
